At Swiss Valley Furniture, our craftsmen use only high-quality, solid wood pieces to construct our furniture. If it won’t stand the test of time, we’re not interested in it. By using solid wood to construct our furniture, you can have confidence that you’ll get custom handmade furniture that is built to last.

Hardwoods Make the Difference

Creating an heirloom-quality piece starts with selecting the right wood. Each wood has its own characteristics that impact available stains and the final look of the product. At Swiss Valley Furniture, we use oak, cherry, maple, hickory, elm, and more to give you a distinct variety of quality wood that can be used to craft a custom handmade furniture piece.

Timeless Classics

Solid wood furniture is truly timeless, in large part thanks to the wide range of finishing options available. Regardless of which wood species you prefer, our variety of finishes provide a custom look that also protects the wood well into the future.

Minimal Care Goes a Long Way

Though solid wood furniture does require some ongoing care, it doesn’t take much to keep it looking great for years to come. Wiping down the wood with a soft damp cloth will often be enough to keep it clean. Keeping wood furniture out of direct sunlight and in a humidity range of 35 to 45 percent will keep it in good shape. If more intensive cleaning is required, use Guardsman products, rather than bleach, wax, or ammonia-based cleaners.

Solid wood furniture delivers lasting quality, and when properly cared for, it can truly become an heirloom piece. This is one investment that your family will enjoy for generations to come.
